Blanchester, OH | Mom's laptop is infected with Antivirus Pro 2009.
I have run a scan with Malware bytes which found 7 threats but even after removal of those threats the Pro 2009 malware remains.
I downloaded PC Tools Spyware Doctor on another machine and transfered it to her's via sandisk drive. I was able to install the program but it is unresponsive and will not run the scan.
I had to quit working on it to come to work, but will try again later.
Anyone have any helpful advise on removal.
Also, what would be the best software package for me to install on the parents machine to avoid these kinds of infections? Keep in mind they are not computer savvy and need something automatic. We have AVG free now along with the free Malwarebytes. Maybe Free is not good enough?
