I agree with Soil-Life 100% on the nitrogen on corn stalks in the fall. I will pull my notes from a meeting I attended last year where an agronomist was advocating this same practice along with some humic acid to get the microbes going. FWIW we can and have grown 300 bushel corn here on beach sand with proper fertility and pivot irrigation.
