If a person hasn't been using a low dose antibiotic for prevention, there is no way that the bad "bugs" could have a chance to build up any resistance. So if we need antibiotics for a treatment, we can hit them hard with it and have in my opinion a more effective use of that tool. Therefore lessening our chances of antibiotic resistance.
