Good morning. I have a case 2470 with a bad transmission but a good engine and now I found a case 4490 that supposedly has a good transmission but needs an engine. Can I drop the engine from my 2470 in or will it not fit? Thanks
Absolutely; that will be as easy of engine swap as there is. 504 was used in so many different Case tractors.
We put 504 in 1200 Case that had 451 from factory back in early 80s. Can’t remember all the little things that we had to engineer to make it work, but the 504 bolted right onto the belt house and bolted into the frame just like 451.
