If it is purchased at a Mac Store, they will install Windows for you and even transfer all your files over from your PC. True, you still need to buy another copy of Windows to be legal, but there are ways around that too. ;) You are correct though - if all the buyer knows how to do is turn it on and click a mouse, then they probably would need some help getting Windows installed. I will guarantee though, if you take a completely new computer user and plop them down in front of two computers - one being a Mac, the other a PC - they will most definitely find their way around the Mac quicker and easier.

As for CJones - paying 2 grand for a new Mac is nuts. The only models in that price range are the Pro series - and the average user does not need that kind of power. You can get into a Macbook or iMac for $1000 - $1200. $600 will get you a new Mac Mini. The Pro series are geared toward intensive users who require a lot of horsepower - such as professional video editing, photography, etc. Someone will pop up and say that buying a Pro model will mean they go that much longer before becoming obsolete - which is true, but the thing that most PC users don't realize is that the Apple doesn't "bloat" their new operating systems every time they release a new one and thus the computers remain viable for longer periods of time.
