| back in ~2002 ran 1 9650 w/ 8row corn head and 30ft platform over ~4400 acres. about 3100 was corn. got a bit tight at the end, but certainly handled it. we had three storage systems close by to dump into, 5 semi and a ~500bu augercart. I built a spreadsheet to calculate all of the flows/efficiencies so we could analyze.
I would say your combine is more than enough. the draper suggestion is a wise one. we moved to a 36' macdon a couple years ago and that added more capacity than we thought it would. don't know how your corn typically averages, but when we went to a 12row head in 200++ bu corn, the combine slowed down, but we were still more efficient and got more done in a day. Besides dad won't drive the combine at 5.5-6.0, so we are better off w/ bigger heads and driving slower. in 140-150 bu corn still run ~5.0 w/ 12 row head.
the math will help you understand where you can improve. The suggestions about grain storage are VERY WISE. I would add that after you learn how to use your bins like the elevator uses storage, you will wonder why you didn't build 3 times as much 25 years ago.
