| I've had the beta release on two computers for about 4 months or so now. One is a Dell Studio laptop, the other is a hand made clone desktop.
I know nothing about the internal part of it or if it's like xp or not. I do know it's been very stable. The desktop often stays up and running for a month or more even with windows open with radar updating constantly etc. Never has locked up to the point I had to reboot it. Only reason I did was installing some programs.
It does look a little like Vista, but my daughter who has a laptop running Vista says it's not really that similar and really likes the beta version and can't wait to upgrade out of her Vista os.
Can't speak to the resource and speed as I went from 6 and 8 yr old machines to these and also went to 64 bit with 4 gig ram so there isn't much I can compare to.
I definately would not be afraid of it whenever it does come out. | |
