SW OH | There is a farm here that rents that way. The guy that farms it once told how it works. I don't remember the numbers and dates, but it's something like this:
CBT price for corn 4-1, and 10-1 averaged, plus the same with a barrel of oil or some other form of energy, times the prime interest rate, divided by the actual dry BPA, times x factor equals dollars per acre rent.
He's been farming it for over 20 years and both parties must be happy with it.
