The closest I have ever been hit by lightning was a Feb morning during a heavy snow. I was on an open tractor spreading manure when this flash came out of no where and hit right beside the tractor. Needless to say, the tractor quickly found road gear. Took the pickup back out to the field and there was a 20 ft circle of melted snow about 10 ft from the tractor tracks.
