It happens Don, but not as often as you would think. I can only think of 4 times that I know of. 2 of them were fixed with plugs good enough to get back. Those tires take a heck of a beating. These videos were taken in the 0 to 8 mph speed but we get to speeds of 40+ mph when the rocks get smaller. Come around a curve at 25 and hit a rock always makes me cringe.
