It really pisses me off when big oil constantly trots out the claim that ethanol causes engine damage without ever saying what damage supposedly is done. Scored pistons? What? I have burned it for as long as it's been available in every gas engine on the farm and have never damaged anything. I suppose if you tell the story enough times eventually people will believe it.
It’s hard to find ethanol free gas here unless you buy high octane so I’ve been running it in everything I own that uses gas and have yet to have an issue. Supposedly it’s hard on older fuel lines and can gum up carbs but again zero issues. I’ve never cleaned a carb in my life and don’t usually use any sort of fuel treatment or bother draining fuel when something is stored for long periods, again zero issues. |
