jeff gordon - 10/26/2018 09:43 Was like a war zone around here all week with guys burning out sloughs. Gotta keep them cleaned up in the dry falls so you farm them in dry years. The scrub bush will grow up fast and will require HD equip to clean up. Most of ours is corner to corner except for one quarter. It'll varry 15 acres pending on how wet it is. We farmed the whole 168a this year

Same here the past few days with smoke clouds rising all around. The willows will come back too if the land is left long enough and they can be tough to get rid of. Have one quarter here used to have 120 cultivated acres on it but we were down to 65 for the last few years. Some of it under water and some just impossible to get to without driving through water. We always expect to farm around some sloughs here but the past decade has just been ridiculous. Its coming back to normal now.
