Iowa | Well said — I am also amazed at how many newer combines are in the area this year. Was sitting in line at the elevator and there were just a few of us running anything older than 10 years. I do think there’s a lot of old money out there, how long it lasts is hard to say. In my area with a lot of 700 acre farms, guys that are 55-60 and own 75% of what they farm are still at least in the black. It’s the land cost that is getting most guys. If you have $200-$500 in your back pocket of making the rent payment to yourself or not making a land payment things stil work. | |
