You can hardly get a contract if you want to grow barley. And obviously as was stated before the barley malt is a very small part of the cost of a beer. One bushel of barley produces enough malt to make 300-500 cans/bottles of beer. So basically one cent per can of beer goes to the farmer for the barley.
