| They chewed on mine...I agree about the dryer sheets too, I was lucky not to get a nest from them, but do not see where they helped that much other than keep cab smelling fresh.
MOUSE BAIT....and change it frequently / regularly, it will go stale or lose its potency over time, and get good quality, the big box stuff works ok, but there is better out there if you have a real big problem.
Peppermint oil on cotton balls has been somewhat successful for me, moth balls in the separator. I THOROUGHLY clean the combine, as in remove ALL shields, covers etc, then blow it out, and vacuum just as much as I possibly can, so they have nothing to eat.
I stack all my shields and covers in 2 chemical tote cages and store the combine with them removed, so it gets as much light as possible.
I then use GOOD sticky traps and place on the rear axle / chaffer area and then on top of feederhouse and top of the ladder before cab entry. Lot of work, but worth every penny to keep them out
Cats are a plus...Dogs are a plus.
