Subject: RE: Oates hay question (for next year)

NESD
I planted oats, peas, sorghum, turnips, and radishes this spring, not sure of the date, Hayed when the oats was in the dough stage, more sorghum in than I thought there would be but the regrowth is about three feet tall now, mostly sorghum at that height but a variety of the rest is also there. I have done the oats and peas before but tried this to get fall growth without having to go in and plant the second time. Will have to see what the cows think of the first cutting to see if I want to do it again. Not sure if you want to hay or graze the second crop but don't know if I would care if the oats is in with the sorghum. Hayed some rye early summer and went back in with hay millet and didn't spray but should have.
