McPherson, KS | We have cornstalks we burned under irrigation. Drilling wheat to harvest for grain this week and also plan on grazing this fall and winter. What can I add for cover crop grazing this fall that will winter kill? This will be harvested for grain so don't want any thing to winter over. Plan on drilling wheat and coming back with the second pass for the cover seed. We have some tillage radish we need to get rid of and will throw that in with the wheat. One guy suggested spring oats and rapeseed. Only concern another guy had about that is if the oats are sowed too many lbs. per acre, it could choke out the wheat...? Any suggestions or ideas? thanks | |
