southern MN | It’s about 20 miles away. It is a ‘county ditch’ which is an all tiled ditch, put in in the 1920s.
This is in a deeper cut getting between potholes. I never walked in the field, nor did the people I know on the line that wanted to see what’s up with it. So we heard the depth, can’t really verify it.
It’s planned to be fixed after harvest. Looks like a big job.
The main line was designed with a 1/4” coefficient; they averaged 1/2 inch of rain for over 30 days this summer. It pushed water hard for a long time.....
Imagine coming up on that in a cornfield, or something half that size at night. Yikes.
