Valley, NE | got the calves home and weaned the other weekend. The kids aren't near as excited to be opening gates, but we rotate who has to open gates and who gets to ride in the tractor. The calves took to the TMR pretty well this year. I credit that to a few things: creep feeding since they're 60 days old, feeding some silage pile corners to the cows and calves out in the pasture before we bring them home for a couple weeks prior to weaning, and having a few show broke show heifers in the mix. As you can tell the red heifer is one of the 8 that are broke and tame out of the total 41 head. And that's my boy Cameron (7), hes pretty soft hearted for cows and barn cats. This is my victory lap shared with you guys;
