Such a big deal you don't even know what the premium is. AS for "signing up" you can't sign up any animal you haven't had on your place its whole life as being all natural since you have no idea what happened to them when they were off property. Which comes back to Age/Source which is as easy as calving records and a corresponding EID tag put in near birth.
Someone in the general public ambushed by some journalist idiot is of course going to talk up how they want all their meat Age/Source/All natural/Kosher and anything else they can virtue signal to all their friends watching. In reality they go to the counter and look at the price and buy accordingly. Ask them what any of those buzz word terms actually mean and vast majority won't have a clue but they will crow how they want it in public and in private don't give a damn. The REAL nuts who want all that buy privately from some grass fed guy who is bending them way over and they are thanking him for it. |
