Look at the performance curves on the pumps is the only way to know, for example there is a big difference between a 1hp motor with a 20 gpm pump end vs a 1 hp with a 10 gpm pump. It comes down to static, flow and pressure really, distance doesn't have much to do with it unless it's a long ways from well to pressure switch and tank
