BTW, this is true in match-grade .22 rifles and with match-grade .22 ammo.
One of the things that makes .22's finicky about their ammo is the rim thickness issue. Some ammo's are more consistent in their rim thickness than others. Match shooters used to sort .22LR ammo by rim thickness and use only the stuff that was pretty uniform.
