Subject: RE: Writing Checks

Manitoba, Canada
My wife writes the few checks to businesses that won’t accept a credit card payment. I like that when a credit card payment is done there is a clear paper trail and I don’t have to worry about a check not arriving or being lost by the recipient.

I will write a check if I’m forced to but I write in the style of modern art. It is so vague and messy that it is open to interpretation.

Edit to add: Many of our regular payments are made online by direct deposit.

I really don’t think a person can eliminate the danger of identity theft anymore no matter what system a person uses and I feel that with credit cards and direct deposits there are safeguards in place that will flag an unusual event. A physical check is extremely easy to forge.
