Central KS | The old farm probably didn't keep more animals around than the land could support. Not like having a confinement barn on sight.
When it comes to big feeding operations, I have noticed that it is not just the quantity, but also the quality of the smell that changes. I don't know what it is, but large lagoons must do something to the manure to make it smell more sour. None of the small lots around here ever smell like that. | |
