I did not say there was a conspiracy to not have a market . Its just how markets fade away.  No production = no market and no market=no production. I do know that in Kansas there are about 6 offices that basically set  most of the coop grain bids now.

Very true about the "no market = no production". It makes no sense to grow a crop without a market for it that is within reasonable and economic transportation distance. The transportation is not only an economic issue for the grower, but also the purchaser. They won't buy it and haul it a long ways off and lose money. Years ago, we used to grow milo and silage corn, along with corn, wheat, and beans. So did most other farms. There is no market here anymore for milo and silage corn, so it isn't grown here. The use of those products diminished to nothing around here, so the market went away.

I wish we had a market for more types of crops to get more crop rotation and diversity, but there isn't, so we don't grow them and have no plans to.
