North of London | I would have to do some digging to show it but basis here has been improving as Chicago went lower so it has not hurt us as bad as it has in the US from what I feel.
I do not keep track of price in 56 or 60 lb units but I do know the price from the high in June is only down $12-15 a tonne for corn and about $10/t from what I booked wheat in June for harvest delivery.
Yes supply management guarantees income, not profit, but it also limits what you can produce subject to penalty if you over produce.
Efficient producers do well but inefficient producers still end up quitting. | |
