“I didn’t see any bad crops”.

Good to hear

“The last few hours were in the dark”

Perfect time to see them

Majority of the trip was in the daylight. 80%. I did not see NW IA and SW MN due to the dark last night but I will when I head back today.

Took the rest of the trip North today. There is a lot of beautiful corn in Southern MN but there are yellow spots as well and drowned out spots as well. I doubt the beautiful corn in each field will offset the yellow and drowned out spots enough to produce record yields.

We don't grow many beans so I wouldn't be a good judge there.

With all of that being said, if my trip was representative of the whole corn crop (I'm sure it wasn't) I would expect an above trend yield. Trouble spots, while present were not representative of large areas. The trouble spots weren't drought too. Even the worst fields will make at least 2/3 of average. There will be a lot of areas in other parts of the country way above average to make up for those fields.
