SW Iowa
We will take less, as the middle man will pay market price for his beans, which is already $2.00/bu less than 6 weeks ago, then try and mark them up a bit to sell to China for his profit. So, we producers end paying the tariff, another middleman's cut, and bear market prices, while the Chinese get cheap beans, and a new middle man has sprung up with his hand in the pot. It is really screwed up. Tariffs, embargoes, anything causing trade barriers with other countries is anti-capitalism. Next thing our fearless leaders will try is some socialist gov give away program to help US farmers survive these times of trade wars. Then the government will pick and chose what farmer will get the socialist gov gravy hand outs and how much. That will be based on some soil conservation plan to make the greenies happy.
We are entering into a 10 year period of less and less with more gov control of our income. Get used to it.
