| They started with about a 3/8" gap between the pipes before they started welding. Every single manually welded joint was visually inspected by a weld inspector, he would sign the pipe to show he passed it then it was X rayedand every single X ray is kept on file, every pipe is also numbered, mapped and kept on file so if there is ever a problem they can check every pipe from that batch.
