Near-north Ontario, French River | I feel your pain... first one I had took 7 days to pass, about half the size of a pencil eraser,but jagged like a chunk of rust, made a distinct pinging sound when it hit the strainer LOL.... but I digress. I was to the ER 3 times with that first stone, they tried 2 doses of morphine but it didn't seem to kill the pain at all. They were concerned about the addictive properties of morphine so refused a 3rd dose. Toridal (sp??) did the trick,, pain was gone in a matter of minutes. They did send me home with Tylenol 3 -codiene but I couldn't keep them down, puked them up almost as fast as I swallowed them . Second stone was much smaller and passed in the ER with just mild pain killers and a steady IV drip. Worst pain I've ever had, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. |
