E.Central MN | Calling it the Farm Bill just gives farmers all the blame for it. I think we'd be better off if the food assistance programs were put under the control of a different govt agency. Maybe it would be harder to get a consensus of votes for a bill that strictly dealt with rural infrastructure issues including farming, but the current Farm Bills have been delayed how many times in the last 15 years anyway. Seems like the big argument is about the size of food assistance and even though they say otherwise, they're always using farm/rural infrastructure as leverage to get it passed. | |
