+1 I have made a trap before and had trouble getting it to work until I added some sawdust and a live carpenter bee inside (mine was a block of wood, 45degree holes leading to a pop bottle on the bottom. I saw some success after adding the live bee and sawdust.
This is the first year Im having a company come and spray my house in an attempt to rid it of all the 'shield' beetles, flies, spiders, and ants; whatever they're spraying is supposed to be effective on CBs too, we'll see.
by far the most effective means of eliminating them has also been a tennis racquet for me as well.
