E.Central MN | I think you're pretty close and that's if there isn't another mechanic at the parts counter trying to get a bunch of parts. My brother has a Malibu, have to remove part of the bumper cover to get to the bulb. It wouldn't be bad if you did it often, but usually enough time passes before you have to do it again that you forget which bolts have to be loosened. Its about a half hour job to change a bulb. Now when one bulb goes bad, my brother replaces the other headlight and turn signal bulbs, too. Its certainly different than my old pickup where I open the hood, pull two pins and the headlight assembly lifts out. Maybe the new car designers have never had to do any normal maintenance on a vehicle so it never crosses their minds. Or maybe they are grandchildren of the designers that liked to hide the gas tank filler on those 50's/60's cars. | |
