Pocahontas County, IA | More pics. It's about 3.5" long by 2.5" wide. It appears to be brass bodied with steel sharpened blades. There appears to be "IPNS" stamped into the back removable cover. That is a steel lever on the front that moves a pin that would hold the more rounded blade in place to the left hand side of the lever. This blade is pointed in the direction of that side of the device. the more pointed blade points to the right hand side and the tail piece is curled into a spring that puts pressure on the more rounded blade. It takes considerable pressure to move the more rounded blade to the left against the spring. So far in my attempts, the pin cannot hold the rounded blade back in the left hand position. I am guessing it is some kind of wood shaping tool and that is just a guess!
Inquiring minds want to know! anyone have a clue?
