North East Kansas | Is it mandated that ethanol be mixed by the oil companies? If it is just 1%, then why is that not offered at the pump? The only thing I have seen at the pump is 15% gasoline. The liquor tax makes no sense since we are talking about letting it stand on its own as a fuel. Taxing it excessively doesn't give it a chance to stand on its own. In fact, if the government wants it denatured, maybe they should pay for it completely anyway. I am just at a loss why it has to be mixed by the oil companies who are the competition. I am more than positive that something very cheap and a small amount could stop people from wanting to drink it. | |
