| I was tiling in SW Mn in 2014 and I think it was the second week in may before I stopped hitting frost on the start holes. The difference that year was that the ground was dryer earlier. No tile in yet this year. Unless it is froze, you can hardly walk across the fields, let alone do any work in them. Still, I am optimistic. Last week before the snow storm, it was just starting to dry up on the top when we got some warm temps. It sounds like close to 60 this week. Much of the frost has come out and tile has started to run. Once the rest of the frost comes out, it can dry up quickly. One thing about both MN and SD: "If you do not like the weather, don't worry, it will change." I think that for this area, the best planting date (if you could get everything done in 1 day and it was fit that day) is around May 10th. I hope to have the tile in for my customers by then without cutting up their fields.
