kid_with_a_ruler - 4/9/2018 22:56 thank you. I figured people would perceive that wheat could substitute for soymeal in hog rations but wanted hear it from the professionals. I read here, I know there's hog producers here. the only animals I have are dogs & cats! thanks again.




Wheat is higher in protein content than corn is so feeding wheat in place of corn could lower the need for additional protein (in most cases soybean meal) some but most of the hogs in the US are fed in areas that there isn't a great deal of wheat produced.

We've fed some wheat before (mid 90's) and wouldn't be opposed to doing so again if the right opportunity presented itself but there isn't much wheat grown around here.   100's of miles of trucking would kill its cost effectiveness.
