South Central Iowa | As much as I have heard about the thing, not being near alive at the time, I would have figured there would be this massive impact on the chart. When I went to look at 3:30 that morning of the Chinese tariffs, I couldn't believe how hard it was to find on the monthly and even weekly chart. I had to look up the date, January 4, 1980, from several different sources just to make sure that is when it happened.
Good Point! The monetary policy did impact inflation and interest rates and is tied in with the effect on land prices and interest rates. I didn't mention it specifically. Mostly, I don't know how to describe it's impacts outside of those two items.
