Well I guess by the sound of things I undervalued my pasture. I have pastured at $.65 per day for each cow bull or yearling, and $25 per calf for the season. I am responsible for fencing, water system ( pumped well water to every pasture) and rotational grazing moves. The owners are responsible for salt minerals and all health treatments. Cattle are brought in in June and pasture till end of oct. These rates are based on a slight discount from the local community pasture rates where pasture treatments are done on a cost basis by the pasture management. I am located in Manitoba.
Wow! Price is subjective to demand also. Where i am located there are no community pastures nearby. Its all privately owned land as far as the eye can see. Pressure from good crop prices has seen a lot of hay and pasture tilled under increasing demand. |
