3 things come to mind:
1. Try a different mouse. It could be that the button in the mouse is sticking.
2. Make sure you're not pressing any keys on the keyboard, especially 'Shift'.
3. In the windows control panel, check the mouse settings. I seem to remember there being a 'sticky click'. But, that might have been an option only for certain computers/mice.
