A person can cherry pick anything, good or bad, from almost any area which is why a guy can't gauge the crop from nat. I could lead you to believe that all of so Il looks like my pic above. Or I could explain that is our worst field and most of the corn will be somewhere close to avg. although it doesn't take very many acres like that to pull the overall average down in a hurry.
FYI we have had 28" of rain so far this year, about normal. 15" came in about 2 weeks in middle of planting time. This corn got replanted may 18 and has had a total of less than 6" since then, so about 25% of normal during the growing season.
