eastern Kansas | Updated the computer in our barn office and the "long range wireless adapter" which was receiving the internet from the house is apparently not compatiable with vista. We were using a netgear px 300 or 400 maybe? It had a remote antannea which sit ontop of the desk in order to recieve the signal. I am not sure the distance from there to the house 100 yards maybe more and in a cinder block building. Anyway not sure what we shoulod replace it with.
my laptop will pick up the signal about 1/2 across this distance and sometimes very breifly while sitting in the barn. Staples said what I had sounded commercial not consumer-like and they could maybe special order something. any help is appreciated. | |
