Tiger, and others too have said the same thing. We must endure more pain, we haven't suffered enough. Why? Farming is what you make of it. Old timer here. When given a bowl of lemons make lemonade. Take second jobs, buy only what you have to, spouse has a job, and by all means make repairs. Farming is a livelyhood. No one owes anyone else a living and that includes landlords or other renters.

Rents too high, cut back acres and farm less. Seed costs and fertilizer too high, shop around. Not picking on you by any means but I would guess your age reflects your attitude. It is not unique to farming that each of is in competition with another. All businesses operate that way. Someone will always bid "lower" to get the job. Well in farming someone will always bid higher to get the land. Everyone got into farming for a reason and hopefully money wasn't one of those. Times like these stress that point.
