Subject: Price later corn expiring

Talking to the local grain guy at the coop this week. He said the amount of DP corn that is still sitting unpriced is mind boggling. he said this was way above a normal year even considering the good yields. He showed me a spreadsheet with a bunch of the larger coops in Iowa and a few in Illinois that all have aug 31st as expiration date where the corn WILL be priced by the elevator. A few aug 24/25/26

Don't you think this will/is putting pressure on the market because of the amount of unpriced corn? Why wouldn't I wait until all this corn gets flushed out at the market and re-own if I'm considering buying it back? It makes sense because last year you can see that dip on the chart on the 31st. someone tell me why it wouldn't?

it's interesting to see all the ethanol plants who didn't get coverage thru new crop. Some of the best basis levels being posted all year. NIA. I did 1 HTA that I've rolled to sept originally against July. I wish I did about 5 more :(
