North Central Illinois | Years ago the end rows always seemed to handle stress better and yield better. Now it seems like the rest of the field is better than the headlands. I think this is due in part to bigger equipment and more compaction on headlands. We address the compaction and do a pretty decent job of it but I think some of our headlands still suffer a little because of it. Anytime you have compaction, environmental stress will show up worse. | |
