West Central IA
# of kernels long less butt & tip x # rows around x 90,00 if decent moisture like last year and x 100,000 or 110,00 if dry or very short like now will be more accurate. I had much better looking corn than what I see here nearly 25 years ago and appraised at 184 bpa and then went 3 weeks with no rain in August and lost anywhere from 20 to 75 bpa. My Dad told me my 1st mistake was looking at my yield potential on the 1st week of August. Stay out of the corn field till September if you want an accurate yield estimate.
