I don't follow Mark Gold but I think he has a lot of company when it comes to predicting better yields now than a few weeks ago. There has been rain in some of the dry areas to improve or at least stabilize things and there has been a big cool down. A lot of the rains that fell were not expected in those areas nor was the cool spell on the radar a few weeks back. How much the rain and the cool have helped is certainly open to interpretation and argument but it isn't hard to see why some have changed their tune. If they have gone from low 160's or lower to mid 160's that seems reasonable. If they have gone back to 170 that does not seem reasonable. Beans are still up for grabs. Could be a record breaker or just so so.
