I've found comfort and longevity do not go together. The old standby redwing 938's lasted for a long time but got uncomfortable rather quick. Nice soft Danners are always comfy but don't last. I ordered som saloman hiking style boots on a friends recommendation. They aren't as tall as what I like but he says I'll not wear regular work boots again. We shall see.
I agree the Danners probably won't last as long as proper "work" boots, but I don't even care. With comfort like that I could never go back. However I do get more life out of them that I would have thought. They are also not as hot as other boots I have owned.
Luckfarmer, I do the same thing. These boots aren't exactly cheap...but you get what you pay for. I have found some acceptable deals on them at times and it doesn't hurt them to sit in a box for a couple months. |
