NE SD | Last year we went 7 weeks without a drop. most of may and all of June with temps in 90's or close to it everyday. I lost a pliers in one of the cracks that's how dry we were. we have a heavy soil and do better under drought conditions then wet. We had full subsoil moisture last year going into that dry spell like this year. corn was really stressed everyday and rolling bad. We ended up having the best corn crop ever last year. Oh and we also were pollinating when nights were hot and muggy around 85 degrees and wouldn't cool off. Not ruling out our corn crop here because it isn't as bad as last year (YET) just my 2 cents | |
