Western Illinois | I agree with the drought similarity, although one could argue that there is more drought in actual corn belt states with ND, SD & NE taking a big hit this year compared to last year. The biggest difference from this year to last isn't drought, though. It's excessive rain early which has led to poor stands and quite a bit of later planted replant crops. That's the biggest reason that I see why the ratings are so much lower than 16.
We have a decent crop in Western Illinois. But it's dry, and we could very easily have 140-160 bu corn on our hands in a matter of 10-14 days instead of 180-220 with the heat forecasted. Only time will tell. | |
